I'm Lauren and I'm a native Texan, wife, & mom of two little girls. I started selling my clay figurines in August of 2022 on Etsy. Before that, I was creating art just for myself and made my living in the accounting world.

Early on, I had big dreams of making movie monsters and working in animation. I studied drawing and special FX makeup in community college...that was fun! In 2022, I began my sculpting journey and focus on growing those skills. I recently studied ceramics under two well known Houston ceramicists, and perhaps will soon offer pottery! Having suppressed my creativity for many years, it has been a true blessing to be able to come back to my artistic roots. 

With Stony Layne Co, I aim to design original characters with a flair for the fantastical. I gain inspiration from various vintage finds, fables, and my own day dreams. Wherever inspiration hits, I ride the wave and add my own growing style to the final design. 

I currently use paper clay as my medium of choice, but also incorporate fabrics, wood, and vintage trinkets. All of my artwork is crafted entirely by hand in my home studio. I do not use molds for the figurines or stencils for the hand lettering elements.

In 2023, I joined the Johanna Parker Partners in Craft family and couldn't be prouder! And in 2024, with Johanna's imaginative input, we began creating exclusive JPD Partners in Craft designs for the festive shelves of Traditions!
